Cebu
City is the oldest city in the Philippines. Founded in 1565.
Ferdinand Magellan visited
Cebu in 1521 and planted a large cross (now known as Magellan's
Cross) which is now the oldest historic relic from the Spanish
era. A visit to the shrines and monuments, churches, colonial
houses in the city and throughout the province will give you
a sense of Cebu’s historic past.
Cebu is in the Central
Visayas, about 587 kilometers (367 miles) south of Manila.
